In 2022, P’apiu successfully met stringent evaluation criteria in waste management, energy conservation, water conservation, socio-cultural sustainability, and human rights protection, set by Travelife. Building on this achievement, P’apiu aims to secure the prestigious Travelife certification again for 2024-2025, reaffirming our commitment to being a leading sustainable resort.

SAVE WATER – Achieving a 10% Reduction in Water Consumption

To reach our water-saving goal, P’apiu implements innovative solutions for water reuse and efficient resource management. We repurpose cleaning and bathing water to irrigate plants, reducing waste and conserving valuable water resources. Our staff receive comprehensive training on water conservation practices, ensuring that used cleaning water is carefully stored and transferred to our landscaping team for irrigation purposes.

We select native plants that are well-suited to the local climate, prioritizing drought-resistant varieties. This choice reduces the need for frequent care and watering, promoting a more sustainable and low-maintenance landscape.

We conduct water sample tests annually to ensure clean, safe water quality.

PROTECT & PROMOTE LOCAL BIODIVERSITY

P’apiu is dedicated to safeguarding and enhancing local ecosystems by increasing the population of native bees by cultivating various native flowers, herbs, and vegetables while avoiding the use of non-native species. We diligently care for existing native plant varieties, ensuring they thrive and sustain the local biodiversity.
